Adrian Says: "Kamala is the goddess we never knew we needed."
Recently, we had just finished the book Siddhartha and I think we can all agree that there are many signs of Joseph Campbell's 17-steps of the Hero's Journey present in Siddhartha. Now to not make this blog a whole recap of the 152 pages of Siddhartha, I'm going to focus on the Goddess/Temptress stage of the Hero's Journey. Now some of you might have had an image of Kamala appear the moment you read the words "goddess/temptress" and fortunately for you, you are correct. This image of Kamala was taken from the 1972 Siddhartha Film I'm going to focus on the scene where Siddhartha first met Kamala. Now in my eyes, I see this scene as both meeting with the goddess and woman as the temptress. Now some of you may have mixed opinions on this and for that I allow you to rant your thoughts under the comment section. Just make it family friendly please.
